GUIDE
The best second-hand marketplaces in the UAE
Short answer
For the widest choice, start with Dubizzle, the UAE's largest classifieds site. Facebook Marketplace and local Facebook groups are good for cheap, quick local deals. OpenSooq is another large general classifieds site. Sookify is the pick for trading with neighbours in your own building or community and for selling a whole home before a move. For luxury goods, refurbished electronics or fashion, a specialist site such as The Luxury Closet or Revibe is usually better.
This guide is published by Sookify, one of the marketplaces in it. We have tried to be fair: the big classifieds sites have far more listings than we do, and we say so.
Quick comparison
| Marketplace | Best for | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Dubizzle | The widest choice of almost anything, plus cars and property | The biggest audience in the UAE, so expect more competition and more strangers |
| Facebook Marketplace and groups | Cheap furniture and household items, quick local deals | Free and very busy, but there is no platform support if a deal goes wrong |
| OpenSooq | General classifieds, cars, phones and furniture | Large across the Middle East, including the UAE |
| Sookify | Buying and selling with neighbours in your building, area or school; moving-out sales | Newer and smaller, so fewer listings; free to start with no commission |
| The Luxury Closet | Pre-owned luxury bags, watches and jewellery | Authenticated resale rather than person-to-person |
| Revibe and Cartlow | Refurbished phones, laptops and electronics | Checked devices with a warranty, at a higher price than a private sale |
Dubizzle
Dubizzle is the default second-hand marketplace for most people in the UAE and the largest classifieds site in the country. It covers almost everything: furniture, appliances, electronics, baby items, cars, property and jobs, from private sellers and dealers across all seven emirates. If you want the most buyers for an item, list it here. The trade-off is scale: you deal with strangers from all over the country, and lowball offers and no-shows are common.
Facebook Marketplace and local groups
Almost everyone in the UAE already has Facebook, which makes Marketplace and community groups such as building, area and expat groups a quick way to reach local buyers. Prices tend to be the lowest here. Sales happen directly between people with no checks or support from the platform, so meet in public, inspect before paying and never send a deposit.
OpenSooq
OpenSooq is a large classifieds site across the Middle East, with an active UAE section for cars, mobiles, furniture and general items. It is worth posting on alongside Dubizzle if you want more reach.
Sookify
Sookify is a newer UAE marketplace built around where you live. Members join their building, neighbourhood and school communities and see what the people next door are selling first. Offers, counter offers and the handover checklist all sit in one chat, and reviews only come from completed deals.
- Best for: furniture, appliances, baby and children's items and household goods you would rather hand to a neighbour than a stranger; selling a whole flat before a move with a Moving Sale page.
- Cost: free to start with 3 active listings; paid plans from AED 7 a month plus VAT; no commission on private sales.
- Extras: Sookify Agent finds listings from a plain description, and Moving Out Scan drafts listings from a photo of a room.
- Worth knowing: Sookify has far fewer listings than Dubizzle today. It works best when your building or community is already active on it.

Specialist resale sites
- The Luxury Closet: a Dubai-based platform for pre-owned luxury bags, watches, jewellery and clothing, with authentication.
- Revibe: refurbished phones, laptops and tablets that have been checked and come with a warranty.
- Cartlow: certified pre-owned, refurbished and open-box electronics and appliances.
These cost more than a private sale, but you get a checked item and someone to go back to if something is wrong.
Which one should you use?
| If you want to | Use |
|---|---|
| Reach the most buyers for anything, including a car | Dubizzle |
| Get rid of furniture fast and cheap | Facebook Marketplace, your building's group, or Sookify |
| Sell to or buy from people in your own building or community | Sookify |
| Sell everything before you move out | A Sookify Moving Sale, then Dubizzle for anything left |
| Buy a used phone or laptop with a warranty | Revibe or Cartlow |
| Sell or buy a designer bag or watch | The Luxury Closet |
Many sellers list on two places at once, for example Dubizzle for reach and Sookify for neighbours. Just remember to take the item down everywhere once it sells.
Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest second-hand marketplace in the UAE?
Dubizzle is the largest classifieds site in the UAE and the default place to buy and sell used items, cars and property.
Where can I sell used furniture in Dubai?
Dubizzle and Facebook Marketplace reach the most buyers. Sookify lets you sell to neighbours in your own building or community first, which makes collection easier. See our guide to selling used furniture in Dubai.
Is there a second-hand marketplace for my building or community in the UAE?
Yes. Sookify creates communities for UAE buildings, neighbourhoods and schools, so members can buy and sell with the people who live closest to them.
Which UAE marketplaces charge no commission?
Dubizzle and Facebook Marketplace let private sellers list most household items for free, and Sookify takes no commission on private sales. Specialist resale sites such as The Luxury Closet earn from each sale.
